Afan has the most extensive network of purpose-built trails in South Wales, though there isn't much for the beginner. The Penhydd trail is currently closed, but will be improved before reopening and there is talk of a new blue trail. There are actually two trail centres:

• Glyncorrwg Mountain Bike Centre - Cafe and bike shop
• Afan Forest Park Visitor Centre - Cafe, bike hire and visitor centre
